Description

European privet (Ligustrum vulgare) is an ornamental shrub of the Oleaceae family.

Height up to 5 m. Shoots are hairy. The leaves are lanceolate, 2-7 cm long and 0.2-2 cm wide, pointed at the top. Their upper side is dark green, the lower side is light green. The flowers are white, clustered in panicles. The main axis of the broom is covered with dense hairs, its lower part with leaves. Blooms in July. Fruits are black, shiny berries with 2-4 seeds. The fruits ripen in September-October. and lasts on forks until mid-winter.

European privet (Ligustrum vulgare) is an ornamental shrub used for clipped hedges. Resistant to droughts, dust. Grows well in various soils. In very cold winters, it freezes to a snow cover, but quickly recovers, blooms and ripens.
